There’s nothing like the sound of a child’s laughter: innocent, healthy and full of happiness. It is hard to laugh when you’re hungry and scared. We provide basic needs to children so they have the freedom to enjoy life, to laugh. We provide education so that they can someday experience the joy of self-sufficiency. We believe that community is about having people to laugh with, as much as it is about having people to support you in times of need.
KHEL is a primarily volunteer-supported and donor-based organization. As well as the generous funds provided by friends around the world, we support community co-operative projects that provide employment and a fair income. KHEL is currently working on broadening its horizons and moving towards a sustainable future by addressing some crucial issues such as preservation of traditional arts and ecological concerns.
